Main information about the Court

The Supreme Court of Cassation is the highest court in the Republic of Serbia. It began to operate on 1 January 2010, along with the other courts established in line with the organization of the judiciary and the courts’ jurisdictions, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Organization of Courts ("Official Gazette of the RS" No. 116/08 and 104/09). At the beginning of 2014, the amendments and supplements to the Law on Organization of Courts and the new Law on Seats and Territories of the Courts and Public Prosecutors Offices established and launched a new network of courts; at that time the Supreme Court of Cassation sustained significant organizational and jurisdictional changes.

Since 2010 the seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation has been in the state authorities’ building in Nemanjina St. 9 in Belgrade.

As of 6 December 2013, Judge Dragomir Milojevic is President of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

MAIN INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURT

At the beginning of 2014, the amended Law on Courts and the new Law on Seats and Territories of Courts and Public Prosecutors established and launched a new network of courts; that is when the Supreme Court of Cassation sustained significant changes in organization and jurisdiction.

As of 6 December 2013, Judge Dragomir Milojevic is President of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

As of 1 July 2014, the Court has 36 elected judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation, counting the President, and the judicial staff consists of 199 employees of which 6 are appointed civil servants, 40 are judicial assistants - advisors to the Supreme Court of Cassation, while others are civil servants and state employees who perform IT, accounting, technical, administrative and other supporting activities essential to the successful functioning of the Court.
