Court Registry Office

Governed by Articles 35 and 36 of the Book of Court Rules and Articles 8 and 13 Items 54-62 of the Rules on Internal Organization and Systemization of Job Positions in the Supreme Court of Cassation

The Book of Court Rules defines the Court Registry Office as an organizational unit of the Court in charge of administrative and technical tasks.

When the Registry Office is divided into several sections or departments, Head of Section/Head of Department manages the work of the Section/Department, under the supervision of the Head of the Registry Office.  

The work of the Court Registry Office is managed by the Head of the Registry Office, who can also simultaneously be in charge of managing the work of individual organizational units of the Registry Office.

The Rules on Internal Organization and Systemization of Job Positions in the Supreme Court of Cassation stipulate that the Court's Registry Office:

  • Performs tasks related to the administrative processing of cases and keeping of all the registers and directories, except those relating to the judicial administration;
  • Keeps a record of the movement of the cases from the moment of their filing until the moment they are expedited to the competent authority;
  • Provides basic information to the parties and participants in court proceedings about the  movement of the cases based on data from the official records of the Court;
  • Schedules public sessions;
  • Performs tasks related to the computer records of the work of the court and the judges and the produces various reports about this;
  • Performs statistical processing of the reports on the work of the courts, and analytical tasks;
  • Archives the cases and performs other archival tasks, as well as other activities determined by the Book of Court Rules.

Job positions in the Court Registry Office can be independent executive positions or positions within the following organizational units:

  1. Section of the Criminal Registry Office,
  2. Section of the Civil Registry Office.

The Court Registry Office is managed by the Head of the Court Registry Office who is accountable for his/her work and the work of the Court Registry Office to the President of the Court.

Heads of Sections in the Court Registry Office are accountable for their work and the work of their sections to the Head of the Court Registry Office.

The job positions in the Court Registry Office, the job descriptions for each individual job position and the requirements for said positions are regulated by the provisions of the Rules on Internal Organization and Systemization of Job Positions in the Supreme Court of Cassation.
